‘Somewhere in Nowhere’: Author Talk and Signing with Steven Gellman
An award-winning songwriter turned author, Somewhere in Nowhere is Steven Gellman's debut novel. This coming-of-age novel follows Simon, a senior in high school, as he navigates new friendships, a potential crush, and strange "attacks" that have been happening every night. This will be a moderated author talk with Vanessa Vida Kelley and Gellman. Join us on Saturday, April 18th at The Frederick Center to get your book and meet the author! This event is FREE, with copies of the book available for purchase!
Trans Day of Visibility 2026
YOU'RE INVITED to our 2026 Trans Joy Picnic to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV)! This will be our biggest and best celebration yet! To show our pride in our trans community, connect with friends, and cultivate trans joy and resilience, we hope to see you there. From 12:00pm-4:00pm at Mullinex Park in Downtown Frederick, we will have a BBQ cookout, annual banner signing, tie dye, bracelet making, music, and more! This event is FREE and open to all ages. Beyond Strangers at FCC
"The difference between prejudice and empathy is knowing the whole story" so get to know the whole story through personal conversations with members of the LGBTQ+ community! From 11:30-1:30pm at FCC's Student Center on March 11th, community members are invited to engage in thoughtful and kind conversations that promote acceptance, understanding, and empathy.
