Queer & Trans Clothing Swap
Join us for our twice-annual Queer and Trans Clothing Swap at The Frederick Center! All week, from Monday the 2nd – Friday the 6th, we are accepting clothing donations from 9-4pm of MAXIMUM TWO TRASH BAGS FULL of good-condition clothes. Then, on Saturday the 7th from 1-5pm, join us to grab all the clothes you want, no prior donation required. All clothes are FREE, all-gender, and open to anyone who needs them. We hope to see you there!
Drag Bingo: Ghoulish Gallery
This Halloween Themed BINGO is not to miss! Come haunt at Steinhardt brewery with us and win up to $2,800 in cash prizes! DRAG BINGO: Ghoulish Gallery! DRAG BINGO IS BACK with an event! Play bingo with your friends, witness the very best drag performances from our stellar and fabulous queens, and join our costume contest. Get the chance to WIN BIG, while drinking and eating all that Steinhardt Brewing has to offer! This is by far the best way to support your local community center AND enjoy your Sunday. Featuring Kings and Queen of grave talent! $2,800 in cash prizes with door prizes, pull tabs for instant cash! All proceeds from this event go to benefit The Frederick Center, a 501c-3 nonprofit dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community of the greater Frederick area.

Spark: Annual Prism Awards Gala
Join us for an unforgettable night of dinner, stories, and celebration. The Prism Awards Gala returns on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Thorpewood in Thurmont. Each year, The Frederick Center awards distinguished allies, advocates, and organizations that go above and beyond to protect and advance LGBTQ+ rights and the well-being of our local LGBTQ+ community in Central Maryland. For over a decade, we have celebrated countless heroes with our Prism Awards, and we hope you will join us in honoring their work. Enjoy: a festive cocktail hour • a decadent meal followed by our annual award ceremony • heartfelt stories of advocacy, passion, and life-changing moments • talented performances and special guests • one-of-a-kind art and experiences at our silent auction and raffle. Funds raised by the Prism Awards Gala directly contribute to the mission and programs of The Frederick Center, funding life-changing peer support programs, educational outreach, and social events that help our LGBTQ+ community thrive.
Youth Craft Night
The Frederick Center is thrilled to welcome LGBTQ+ youth, friends, and allies to Youth Craft Night on Thursday, September 24th! From 6:00-8:00pm, youth are invited to Bring Your Own Craft (BYOC)-- ANY crafts and crafting format is welcome. Crochet, knit, draw, make kandi, illustrate on a tablet, paint, or anything creative! Whose Eyeliner is it Anyway? A Community Drag Event
Inspired by everyones favorite improv show, Whose Line is it Anyway, join us for WHOSE LINER IS IT ANYWAY, a community drag show! Come out for a night of interactive improv, comedy, and drag as we enjoy the talents of our Frederick Pride Royal Courts! There will be games similar to the ones played on "Whose Line Is It Anyway" along with drag performances (so bring your dollar bills)! This will be an interactive event where the audience gets to participate with the games as well. Please come between 5pm and 6pm to aid with some of the game selections. Our wonderful drag talent featured: Bayley, Ivanna Rights, Miranda Rights, & Dannie Styles. Capital DJ Chase will be spinning tunes, and it will be hosted by Andi Overton! This show is for ages 13 and up! Concessions by donation. Seats are limited so get tickets early!
BIPOC Town Hall and Social Mixer
Frederick’s LGBTQ+ Black/Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) community is invited to The Frederick Center for an opportunity to share ideas, discuss program and event development, and make new friends and connections! On Thursday, September 10th at 6:30pm, join us for a town hall and dedicated space for BIPOC community members to provide feedback directly to The Frederick Center’s staff, facilitated by Keith (he/him) and Netasha (she/they). After the town hall, stick around for light refreshments and social time with fellow attendees! This event is intended for ages 18+ and for people who identify within both the LGBTQ+ community and the BIPOC communities. We hope to see you there!

Movie Night: To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything!
Join us for August's Movie Night: TO WONG FU, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! Movie nights are free events for all ages, where we welcome our community to enjoy a movie together, eat some delicious snacks, and make new friends watching old favorites. Movie starts at 5pm, so get here a little early to grab the best seats. See you there!

Sapphic Dance ~ August
Sapphic Summer will be on Saturday, August 15th from 5-9pm! Dance in a safe and affirming space with fellow women-loving-women! This edition of Sapphic Dance is 18+, so there will be no alcohol allowed. Feel free to grab a drink at a local bar and then join us! As aways, Sapphic Dance is donate-what-you-can. We'll see you there!
Free LGBTQ+ Legal Clinic
The Frederick Center hosts four free LGBTQ+ Legal Advice Clinics per year! Next up is our August clinic on Thursday the 13th at 5:30pm. You can receive free assistance about family law, estate planning, guardianship, name changes, landlord-tenant disputes, criminal law, adoption, and other civil legal matters, PLUS free notary services! Register and join us to receive legal assistance at the clinic.
PFLAG Ice Cream Social
PFLAG Ice Cream Social is on August 8th from 10:30-12:30pm at The Frederick Center. Join for FREE to enjoy ice cream and community with the PFLAG board and TFC's case manager, Keith!
