From 11:00am-6:00pm, Frederick Pride welcomes you to beautiful Carroll Creek in the heart of Downtown Frederick to celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer+ community. Join us to enjoy drag performances, a food court of the best local food trucks, hand-picked musical guests, hundreds of local vendors and nonprofit organizations, a designated beverage garden with the top local breweries and wineries, a pride shop, a children's area, and more! Drag Queen Story Time
The Frederick Center and Frederick Pride presents... Drag Queen Story Time! We are thrilled to welcome our community back to Hood College for Drag Queen Story Time. Join us on Saturday, June 15th at 11:00am at Hood College's Beneficial-Hodson Library for a vibrant and inclusive event that combines the art of drag performance with the joy of storytelling to create a unique and entertaining experience for children and families. The event aims to promote diversity, acceptance, and inclusivity by breaking down stereotypes and encouraging a celebration of individuality. Drag queens, known for their glamorous and theatrical personas, captivate young audiences with their colorful costumes, elaborate makeup, and dynamic personalities. This event costs $5 per ticket, and all proceeds from this event directly benefit The Frederick Center's Youth Groups, which support the LGBTQ+ youth of Frederick County and beyond. Any attendee of this event certifies that they will abide by The Frederick Center's values of kindness, acceptance, and family-friendly behavior. Anti-LGBTQ+ rheoric will not be tolerated at this event.
Queer Open Mic Night
We can't wait to host our community at this year's Queer Open Mic Night! All talents are welcome to perform: poetry, music, spoken word, juggling, musical theatre performances, and more! We are making queer spaces for queer art, where self-expression and artistry is welcomed in all its forms. Join us to perform at an accepting and affirming space. Pride Prom (18+): A Royal Affair
The Frederick Center is proud to present PRIDE PROM: A ROYAL AFFAIR! On Friday, June 7th, you're invited to dance the night away with us in your royal finery, with drink and food in hand! Dress to impress in your most regal attire and dance the night away with friends old and new. There will be drinks from Frederick Social's wide array of beverages, a food spread for all to enjoy, a DJ and dancing to the best of the best queer jams, and a costume contest to win tickets to Pride Prom 2025! Dress on theme or dress in drag, and take on the dance floor with your community where self expression of all kinds is welcomed and encouraged. We can't wait to make memories with you this June!

Colors of Pride: A Mental Health Workshop
The Mental Health Workgroup of the Frederick County Local Health Improvement Process (LHIP) is teaming up with Transformative Arts Project and the Frederick Center to sponsor a community-wide campaign called "From the heART: Creative expressions in mental wellness." This campaign seeks to cultivate inclusivity and compassion within the community by harnessing the power of art to challenge societal stigmas associated with mental health. It serves as an exciting launch to Pride Month, aiming to address the stigma surrounding mental health and emphasize the transformative potential of artistic expression in fostering a healthy and diverse community. Through an array of engaging events, including the highly anticipated Community Arts Celebration, this campaign will shine a spotlight on local Queer artists, organize interactive workshops, and create a welcoming space that promotes well-being and acceptance. It’s All About the Bubbles Wine Tasting
Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, Asti Spumonti: So many bubbles, so little time! How are they similar and different? And while we're at it, Extra Brut, Brut, Extra Dry, Sec, and Demi-sec are used to describe these sparkling wines -- what do those terms mean? Spin the Bottle owner and expert Marc Monahan shares his knowledge plus tastings of a range of sparkling wines at this Frederick Pride 2024 Wine Tasting. As an added bonus, Spin the Bottle will donate 10% of all bottle sales after the tasting to The Frederick Center. It's all about the bubbles, baby! Seating is limited. Join us and register today!

PFLAG Lego Building
Saturday, April 13th from 10am-12pm, at The Frederick Center, join PFLAG Frederick for Lego Building! Parents can sit upstairs and relax with other parents in our community as our lego masters (ages 5 to 12, supervised by a MCPS art teacher) spend an hour building anything their imagination comes up with from our big pile of legos. Then we will display our masterpieces for our parents to view and take photos of. Each participant will receive a ribbon and juice box. Legos will stay with us for future events. The Frederick Center's legal team is preparing for our next free LGBTQ+ legal clinic on Thursday, April 11th! If you have questions about family law, estate planning, guardianship, name changes, landlord-tenant concerns, criminal law, and other civil legal matters, we can help. Trans Joy Picnic for Transgender Day of Visibility

Pink Drinks is an informal, loosely organized, networking and gathering function offered monthly to the The Frederick Center (TFC) community. It is intended to provide an opportunity to bring together adults (ages 21+) of the Central Maryland area LGBTQIA+ community and allies to encourage friendship, conversation, and community involvement. Pink Drinks is very informal: Bring Your Own Beverage - any beverage, no pressure to imbibe. The host provides simple light finger food, plates, napkins, ice, glasses, and name tags. Don't expect a meal. The consumption of alcoholic beverage is in no way required (many don't) and anyone over-indulging will be banned from future events. The focus is on initiating connections and building a community. Cost: BYOB, suggested donation to TFC, RSVP required RSVP: Ticket for each person required, even if you know the hosts. The host sets the limit to the number of attendees. If your plans change please adjust your reservation to give others a chance to attend (this event frequently fills up).
LGBTQ+ Homelessness Listening Session
The Frederick Center is hosting a listening session for members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced housing emergencies and/or who are currently unhoused or homeless. The Center is in the process of creating an LGBTQ+ emergency shelter to assist with our community's urgent housing needs, and we need your feedback! Earn a $25 Visa gift card just by attending! Frederick County Queer History
The Frederick Center is thrilled to announce our partnership with Frederick County Public Libraries to present: Frederick County Queer History! Join us from 2-4pm on March 17th at C. Burr Artz Library as we host a panel of LGBTQ+ folks who will be speaking about their lived experience in Frederick County and how life has changed for LGBTQ+ people over the decades. This is a wonderful opportunity for LGBTQ+ folks and our allies to gather together and support the stories and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community before marriage equality, before The Frederick Center and Frederick Pride existed. The Frederick Center is hosting a much-requested clothing swap for the LGBTQ+ community! We will be creating a gender-inclusive and safe space to trade clothes. TO DONATE: - Drop off clothes at The Frederick Center on Monday, October 16th and Tuesday, October 17th from 12:00-4:00pm - Clothes can be for any gender - Clothes should be for ages 9+ - Clothes should be gently used, no stains, holes, or disrepair - No donation from homes with lice, bedbugs, fleas, etc. - NO UNDERWEAR will be accepted, but bras and chest binders are acceptable TO SWAP, join us on Saturday, October 21st from 12:00-4:00pm at The Frederick Center, 322 West Patrick St! Get Schooled with FreeState Justice!
Are you a parent, caregiver, or LGBTQ+ youth in Maryland? Then come get ready for school with FreeState Justice and the Frederick Center! On Sunday, October 15th from 9-1pm, join us as we share resources to help LGBTQ+ students and the adults who care about them enter the Frederick school year. Then get ready to raise your voice and participate in focus groups where LGBTQ+ youth and their caregivers can share their experiences in local public schools and what they believe can be done to support them better going forward. Then, the fun time will culminate in a ‘Know Your Rights’ presentation to ensure everyone in attendance knows the local and state services they have at their disposal as we begin another school season! Come out and make your voice heard.

LGBTQ+ Youth Pride Prom
The Frederick Center and the Delaplaine Arts Center are thrilled to welcome LGBTQ+ youth of Frederick County to celebrate Pride 2023 together at a semi-formal event where they can feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves, bringing same-gender dates, and having fun with fellow community members. Prom will be held on Wednesday, June 28th from 6:00-9:00pm at the Delaplaine Arts Center's Gardiner Hall, with a dance floor, DJ, finger foods, and LGBTQ+ Pride theme.
