FREDERICK PRIDE FESTIVAL 2025
On Saturday, June 28th, join us for a fun-filled day of festivities at the Frederick Pride Festival! From 11:00am-6:00pm, Carroll Creek park will feature music performances, drag performances, local businesses and nonprofit vendors, a children's area, local food trucks, a beer and wine garden with local beverage vendors, DJ sets from the best DJs we have to offer, and MORE! Join one of the largest pride festivals in Maryland and CELEBRATE FREDERICK PRIDE!

On Friday, June 27th, you're invited to the first-ever Frederick Pride Parade! At 7:00pm, the streets of Downtown Frederick will be filled with the LGBTQ+ community, supporters, friends, and allies. Floats filled with organizations, clubs, drag queens, and a FREDERICK PRIDE COURT will be parading through our city. Come out to the inaugural Frederick Pride parade with your pride flags, rainbow garb, and be a part of Frederick Pride history!

Night Out at the Keys

Queer Open Mic Night
Frederick Pride and The Frederick Center are proud to present: QUEER OPEN MIC NIGHT! We are making queer space for queer art and YOU'RE INVITED! Embrace your art and perform music, comedy, circus acts, poetry, or anything else that calls to you. Sign ups will be provided day-of the event, and it's free to participate and free to attend for all ages.
Youth Pride Prom: Out Loud and Proud
LGBTQ+ youth, allies, friends and community are all welcome to join us for YOUTH PRIDE PROM 2025! Here at The Frederick Center, you can be your best and truest self with your friends while celebrating Frederick Pride. Dance, enjoy the best queer music, play games, and party the night away in your favorite LGBTQ+ community center. Frederick Pride is proud to announce we will be featuring Drag persona BLACK EYED SUZY as our guest DJ for Youth Pride Prom! From 6:00-9:00pm on Saturday, June 14th, the Frederick Center will be transformed into a magical dance floor and party space. There is no dress code! Drag Queen Story Time
We are thrilled to welcome our community back to Hood College for Drag Queen Story Time. Join us on Saturday, June 14th at 10:00am at Hood College's Beneficial-Hodson Library for a vibrant and inclusive event that combines the art of drag performance with the joy of storytelling to create a unique and entertaining experience for children and families. The event aims to promote diversity, acceptance, and inclusivity by breaking down stereotypes and encouraging a celebration of individuality. Drag queens, known for their glamorous and theatrical personas, captivate young audiences with their colorful costumes, elaborate makeup, and dynamic personalities. We are thrilled to be hosting Jayden Elyse, who will be reading for this storytime! This event costs $10 per adult, with youth under 18 attending for free, and all proceeds from this event directly benefit The Frederick Center's Youth Groups, which support the LGBTQ+ youth of Frederick County and beyond. Any attendee of this event certifies that they will abide by The Frederick Center's values of kindness, acceptance, and family-friendly behavior. Anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric will not be tolerated at this event.
Brunswick Pride Proclamation
Celebrate the kickoff of pride month by joining us at the Brunswick Pride Proclamation! On Tuesday, June 10th at 6:00pm, the Brunswick City Council will formally declare June as Pride Month! Join us for this momentous occasion.
Pre Pride Wine Tasting: It’s All About the Bubbles, Baby!
Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, Asti Spumonti, Sparkling Wine: So many bubbles, so little time! How are they similar and different? And while we're at it, Extra Brut, Brut, Extra Dry, Sec, and Demi-sec are used to describe these sparkling wines -- what do those terms mean? Spin the Bottle experts share knowledge plus tastings of a range of sparkling wines at this Spin the Bottle Frederick PrePride Wine Tasting. As an added bonus, event organizer Spin the Bottle will donate 10% of all bottle sales after the tasting to The Frederick Center. It's all about the bubbles, baby! Seating is limited. Celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility with The Frederick Center on Sunday, March 30th from 2:00-4:00pm! Celebrate the New Year at a queer karaoke event! It begins! Saturday January 4th, 2025, Queeraoke at the Frederick Center! Come and sing your heart out at a safe space, karaoke event hosted by your "flower-of-the-hour" Black-Eyed Suzy. This is a dry-event serving the LGBTQIA+ community, ages 18+. Queeraoke starts at 7:00PM!

Join us at The Frederick Center for Queer Craft Nights!! BYOC (Bring Your Own Craft)-- all crafts are welcome, and fiber arts are encouraged! Feel free to bring craft materials to share if you'd like, or just bring whatever you're working on! World AIDS Day Walk!
Walk with us! Join the HIV Coalition in helping spread HIV/AIDS Awareness as we walk from Baker Park trail to The Frederick Center in order to raise awareness and funds to help keep up the momentum in the progress for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and an eventual cure. After the run, come back to the center with us for a chance to win some prizes and to take advantage of free HIV testing. Ending the epidemic is a collective goal that includes medical professionals, community organizations and of course, the community! Follow the QR code to purchase your ticket early, first 50 participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a raffle ticket. Extra Raffle Tickets will be available soon online and can also be purchased day of event. Tickets to enter the walk are $20, and raffle tickets are $1 per ticket!
Chosen Family Yoga
We are excited to announce Chosen Family Yoga at The Frederick Center, with Bonnie Abbott from @trauma.informed.healing !! Bonnie is a queer yoga teacher specially trained in trauma-informed practices and accessible yoga techniques. We know that the holiday season can be challenging. Set aside time for yourself each Sunday to connect with friends and connect with your body in a safe and healing space. The Frederick Center looks forward to welcoming the LGBTQ+ community to a free wellness event on November 16th! This holistic, integrative approach to community treatment is perfect for LGBTQ+ folks, who deserve and sorely need free and equal access to services that foster wellbeing, community integration, and physical and mental health benefits. Raymond C. Shaw, LAc (he/him) is a licensed acupuncturist providing an opportunity for our local LGBTQ+ community to benefit from acupuncture services, and maybe even try it for the first time to see if this treatment is right for you. Friends of Bill & Dorothy AA Meetings
The LGBTQ+ community, our friends and allies of Frederick and beyond are invited and welcome to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings at The Frederick Center- each week on Tuesday evenings starting October 29th! At 6:30pm, meet with other members of your community to connect, discuss, and hold space for sober and recovery journeys. ALL ARE WELCOME at these meetings. Join friends from your community who are on their sober journey, who are overcoming addiction or substance use concerns, and who need a safe and affirming space to discuss their challenges and joys. National Coming Out Day Queer Unity March
Join PFLAG Frederick, The Frederick Center, and Community for Frederick in our Queer Unity March, recognizing October 11 as National Coming Out Day! Marchers will meet at The Frederick Center at 5:00 p.m. The March will begin at 5:30. Attendees will travel to Winchester Hall to hear a special message from County Executive Fitzwater. We will march to City Hall, where we will listen to a special message from Mayor O'Connor, and then to Baker Park Bandshell, where we will hear a special message from...ALL OF YOU!

Join us on Saturday, June 15th at 11:00am at Hood College's Beneficial-Hodson Library for a vibrant and inclusive event that combines the art of drag performance with the joy of storytelling to create a unique and entertaining experience for children and families. The event aims to promote diversity, acceptance, and inclusivity by breaking down stereotypes and encouraging a celebration of individuality. Drag queens, known for their glamorous and theatrical personas, captivate young audiences with their colorful costumes, elaborate makeup, and dynamic personalities. This event costs $5 per ticket, and all proceeds from this event directly benefit The Frederick Center's Youth Groups, which support the LGBTQ+ youth of Frederick County and beyond. Any attendee of this event certifies that they will abide by The Frederick Center's values of kindness, acceptance, and family-friendly behavior. Anti-LGBTQ+ rheoric will not be tolerated at this event.
Queer Open Mic Night
We can't wait to host our community at this year's Queer Open Mic Night! All talents are welcome to perform: poetry, music, spoken word, juggling, musical theatre performances, and more! We are making queer spaces for queer art, where self-expression and artistry is welcomed in all its forms. Join us to perform at an accepting and affirming space. Colors of Pride: A Mental Health Workshop
The Mental Health Workgroup of the Frederick County Local Health Improvement Process (LHIP) is teaming up with Transformative Arts Project and the Frederick Center to sponsor a community-wide campaign called "From the heART: Creative expressions in mental wellness." This campaign seeks to cultivate inclusivity and compassion within the community by harnessing the power of art to challenge societal stigmas associated with mental health. It serves as an exciting launch to Pride Month, aiming to address the stigma surrounding mental health and emphasize the transformative potential of artistic expression in fostering a healthy and diverse community. Through an array of engaging events, including the highly anticipated Community Arts Celebration, this campaign will shine a spotlight on local Queer artists, organize interactive workshops, and create a welcoming space that promotes well-being and acceptance. PFLAG Lego Building
Saturday, April 13th from 10am-12pm, at The Frederick Center, join PFLAG Frederick for Lego Building! Parents can sit upstairs and relax with other parents in our community as our lego masters (ages 5 to 12, supervised by a MCPS art teacher) spend an hour building anything their imagination comes up with from our big pile of legos. Then we will display our masterpieces for our parents to view and take photos of. Each participant will receive a ribbon and juice box. Legos will stay with us for future events. The Frederick Center is hosting a listening session for members of the LGBTQ+ community who have experienced housing emergencies and/or who are currently unhoused or homeless. The Center is in the process of creating an LGBTQ+ emergency shelter to assist with our community's urgent housing needs, and we need your feedback! Earn a $25 Visa gift card just by attending! The Frederick Center is hosting a much-requested clothing swap for the LGBTQ+ community! We will be creating a gender-inclusive and safe space to trade clothes. TO DONATE: - Drop off clothes at The Frederick Center on Monday, October 16th and Tuesday, October 17th from 12:00-4:00pm - Clothes can be for any gender - Clothes should be for ages 9+ - Clothes should be gently used, no stains, holes, or disrepair - No donation from homes with lice, bedbugs, fleas, etc. - NO UNDERWEAR will be accepted, but bras and chest binders are acceptable TO SWAP, join us on Saturday, October 21st from 12:00-4:00pm at The Frederick Center, 322 West Patrick St! Get Schooled with FreeState Justice!
Are you a parent, caregiver, or LGBTQ+ youth in Maryland? Then come get ready for school with FreeState Justice and the Frederick Center! On Sunday, October 15th from 9-1pm, join us as we share resources to help LGBTQ+ students and the adults who care about them enter the Frederick school year. Then get ready to raise your voice and participate in focus groups where LGBTQ+ youth and their caregivers can share their experiences in local public schools and what they believe can be done to support them better going forward. Then, the fun time will culminate in a ‘Know Your Rights’ presentation to ensure everyone in attendance knows the local and state services they have at their disposal as we begin another school season! LGBTQ+ Youth Pride Prom
The Frederick Center and the Delaplaine Arts Center are thrilled to welcome LGBTQ+ youth of Frederick County to celebrate Pride 2023 together at a semi-formal event where they can feel safe and comfortable expressing themselves, bringing same-gender dates, and having fun with fellow community members. Prom will be held on Wednesday, June 28th from 6:00-9:00pm at the Delaplaine Arts Center's Gardiner Hall, with a dance floor, DJ, finger foods, and LGBTQ+ Pride theme.
